We are excited to announce the formation of an inspections and testing company that while new is certainly assembled with an experienced and seasoned skilled technicians in the area of non-destructive testing.
Background on RSI Formation.
Redi Inspection Services, LLC (RSI) will be headquartered out of Evanston, Wyoming with a fully Western US market reach. Butch Connor and Jerry Chamberlain, two long term and skilled inspection professionals will head up RSI, effective the end of April. Butch’s testing and inspection history goes back decades, as he established a testing firm in the 1980s. The firm was ultimately folded into a company called Versa, which has elected to focus on southern Texas market. Hence, an opening in the Western US market presented itself to Butch, and his operations manager – Jerry Chamberlain – to evaluate how best to establish a best-in-industry testing company, and continue to provide safe and quality services to the many clients that they had developed.
Butch and Jerry viewed joining forces with the Redi family of companies a positive and powerful fit. RSI will offer a full slate of quality testing and inspection services. With the extensive resources within the Redi complement of entities, RSI will have the best of all worlds as it seeks to be a “one call – one stop” service provider in this technical industry and market.
What is Non-Destructive Testing
Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component, or system without causing damage. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article or item being inspected, it is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time in troubleshooting and identifying systemic problems in the item being tested. NDT is used extensively in a wide assortment of industrial applications settings. NDT is actively used in Process Safety Management (PSM) facilities governed by regulatory requirements to have critical items undergo frequent NDT testing. Ultrasonic testing (UT) is one popular method of NDT analysis.
NDT Applications
NDT is a critical preventative maintenance activity that is utilized in gas plants, compressor stations, power plants, phosphate facilities, refineries, mining operations, chemical plants, pipelines, oil and gas operations, and a myriad of other applications.
